The crown prince of Saudi Arabia and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman will be visiting India next week for two days. In his scheduled visit to India, the crown prince will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the agenda of boosting Indian trade and energy security.
Ministry of external affairs in a statement mentioned that Saudi prince would arrive on 19th February in India. Mohammed bin Salman during his visit to the country will be accompanied by several other known faces including popular businesspeople of Saudi and high-level delegation comprising ministers.
A report says that the primary motive of the Saudi prince to visit India is to meet Prime Minister Modi and discuss several issues of mutual interest. Following his meeting with the Prime Minister, Salman is scheduled to meet President Ram Nath Kovind and the Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.
Ministry of external affairs in one of the statements also mentioned that there had been a lot of improvements in recent years. The improvement has been made in the areas such as energy security, trade and investment, infrastructure, defence and security, the statement read.
Mohammed bin Salman besides being a Crown Prince is also a Vice President and council Minister of Saudi Arabia. He is visiting India following PM Modi visited Saudi Arabia in the year 2016. During Modi’s visit to the country, both sides discussed the strategies and plans on mutual partnership, said the Ministry of External Affairs.
Considering the figures of the financial year 2017-18, the recorded bilateral trade was USD 27.48 billion. Achieving such good numbers last year, Saudi Arabia has become India’s fourth largest trading partner.
