Delhi Police Department reported an incident late Tuesday night in which five cars were stolen from an automobile workshop in the area Nangloi in west Delhi. A senior police officer says that a case has been registered against the missing cars from an automobile workshop. The officer also added that the officials are investigating the case and the teams have been assigned for search operation of the vehicles.
A report says that NCR witnessed this high profile theft just a week ahead of Republic day when the security is at its peak following the occasion of Republic day. Seju Kuruvilla, a senior officer from the department, interacted with the news reporters and shared the names of the missing cars from the showroom. He said the names of the missing cars are identified as a Volkswagen Polo, Honda Amaze, Force Gurkha, Ford Ecosport and Mitsubishi Pajero. The investigation is going on, the senior officer told the media.
Praveen Kumar, the owner of the workshop, interacted with the news sources and shared that when he left the workshop one night before the cars went missing, the six cars were parked inside the workshop for the repair work. The next day in the morning when he came to the workshop he discovered that five out of the six cars were missing, said Kumar.
Praveen Kumar during the interaction with the media also shared that his helper called him on Wednesday morning and informed him about the incident. All the keys of the vehicles which went missing were kept on the dashboard of Pajero,” said Praveen Kumar the workshop owner.
After seeing the CCTV footage of the area, the police said that there are five men in the video, who came and started the cars and ran away from the location. As per the reports the owner of the vehicle Force Gurkha is the son of a senior Defense Ministry official.
