Indian Railways to run special trains for foreign devotees during Kumbh Mela 2019

Kumbh Mela 2019: To handle the massive rush during the festival and to ensure the convenience of the Kumbh Mela devotees, Indian Railways is working hard these days. Several initiatives like, train announcements in 22 prominent languages, including English and other similar efforts will be made by the railways during the festival period, say reports.

Northern Railways has initiated the services of Kumbh Special trains. These trains will take devotees to Prayagraj, and the service will continue till the end of the festival.

Besides the special train service, Railways has also appointed Kumbh Sewaks which will be deployed in all the special trains to look after the queries and difficulties that passenger may face during the journey or boarding time.

Adding more to the convenience of the foreign devotees, Northern Railways will also start services of 5 AC trains from New Delhi Railway Station. A report says that Railways will launch the above trains to assist devotees who have come from abroad. A total of 134 trains had been started by the Northern Railways following the festival, and two additional coaches have been added to 66 of these trains along the network, the reports added.

Deepak Kumar, Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO), Northern Railways said, “Starting from today, the trains will operate from different stations of the Northern Railway network. In these Kumbh Special trains, special teams of officials have been delegated to look after the cleanliness in coaches and manage the other services for passengers on board. The special team of officials will also supervise the public announcements made in multiple languages”.

Kumar further added that Kumbh Sewaks would be present in all the trains with mobile phones in their hand to assist passengers with their issues. Kumbh Sewaks will keep mobile phones to resolve the problems with quick solutions and to book tickets if required at any instance, said Kumar.
